About Global Veterans For Peace

"No one can speak more eloquently for peace than those who have fought in war."
-Ralph Bunche, Nobel Peace Prize, 1950

Our Mission:

The Federation of Veteran's Organizations For Global Peace (Global Vets For Peace) is an organization of Military Veterans and allies that seeks to reach out and network with other veteran's organizations of all countries around the World to join together in unity, understanding, and fellowship in order to promote mutual peace and security through the advocation of cooperative business relationships and economic growth. It is well understood that the surest way to peace is through mutual prosperity that fosters better relations between nations via trade and investment in an increasingly globalizing economy. Nations that trade and invest in one another's economies not only have less inclination to go to war with each other, but will actually have greater reason and motivation to avoid engaging in debilitating conflicts.

Our Objectives:

  • To promote international peace and security by the application and spirit of the Charter of the United Nations and by respecting the human rights and fundamental freedoms set forth in the International Bill of Human Rights and other international instruments.
  • To promote international peace and mutual prosperity by encouraging improved relationships between businesses, governments, and other non-governmental public benefit organizations that will facilitate a greater exchange of education, culture, trade, investment, and development, thereby helping to establish common interests, common ground, and common bonds.
  • To promote the full integration of veterans and victims of war in their respective communities by teaming with other organizations in providing appropriate rehabilitation and other relevant services to help them overcome the physical, psychological, and sociological consequences of having survived armed conflict.
  • To further friendly relations among national as well as international organizations of—and for veterans and victims of war.
  • To encourage cooperation between national and international organizations, and to promote the exchange of expertise and experience in all fields of interest, and those of positive and constructive endeavors to improve the lives of people.
  • To participate in activities that promote and maintain the sacred duty of remembrance and to honor those we have lost.

Our Founder:

Mr. Ernest Tchang, Founder & President
Businessman, Entrepreneur, Decorated Combat Veteran & War Refugee

Mr. Tchang at 75 is also the Founder, President and Commander of the 'United States Army Volunteers Reserve Association' (USAVRA). This association was formed to serve as a force multiplier for the Department of Defense by providing final honor guard to the U.S. armed forces and allies under Title 36 of the United States Code of Regulations and the World War Veterans Act of 1924 as amended in a seamless uniformed solemn ceremony, and to provide a trained, experienced, uniformed and disciplined manpower pool for the needs of each of the services determined by the Secretary of Defense of the USA. The organization's mission is to fulfill President Lincoln’s promise—“To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans and to promote world peace through cooperative actions with other organizations.

Mr. Tchang is also Founder of the 'Former 5th Special Forces Chinese Nung Commandos Association'. This association was formed to provide aid and mutual camaraderie to members of this special unit that fought with American Special Forces in Vietnam. Mr. Tchang is a highly decorated Vietnam War Veteran and retired with the rank of Captain from the Army of Taiwan as well as being an American Citizen. Mr. Tchang is a member of the Special Forces Association. Mr. Tchang is also the Administrative Secretary General of the 'World Federation of Chinese Organizations from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos'. This association was formed to provide aid and comfort to refuge families that had migrated to the U.S. to escape the wars in Southeast Asia.

In addition to this, he has volunteered and served in various capacities with the American Chinese Society, the Taiwanese-American Senior Association of Southern California, and the AARP Chinatown Chapter #5282. Mr. Tchang holds a Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Texas Refinery Research Center, a Bachelor of Science Degree from the National Taiwan University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Chinese Hong Kong University. Prior to the war in Vietnam, Mr. Tchang had owned and operated his own group of factories in South Vietnam which produced products such as fiberglass, Ketone, cosmetics and firebricks before the fall of South Vietnam when all of Mr. Tchang's properties were confiscated by the North Vietnamese. He has served as Principal of Baptist English High School in Hong Kong, and later as Head Master at Wilson English College in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China.

In the U.S., Mr. Tchang held the position of Superintendant at Bridgecreek Realty Investment Corporation in Westminster, CA, and had later established his own business as President, Owner/Operator, of Top International Security, Inc. in Rosemead, California.
